A visit to Parc Forestier is a must to see New Caledonia’s flora and fauna in all its glory.

Right in the heart of Nouméa, the Zoological and Forest Park brings together a zoo, a botanical garden and a stretch of dry forest within the city. You'll come across the endemic species of New Caledonia in enclosures designed to recreate their habitat, and observe the dry-forest flora, a threatened ecosystem that the park helps protect. The not-to-miss highlight is the cagou feeding session, held Tuesday through Sunday at 2pm, with family or friends. The visit suits a half-day of accessible discovery without leaving Nouméa, and helps put names on the wildlife and plants you'll meet elsewhere on the territory. Plan your visit.
