Source Trail

> Part of the route is common to the GR® NC1 (white and red markings). Double marking. Germain Bridge (GPS: 670 923 – 7 555 020), walk 500m towards the north-west. At the intersection, turn right and ignore the left track leading to the former Rivière Bleue [Blue River] hut. The information panel is a little further on, on your right (GPS: 670 538 – 7 555 292; alt. 195m). D - Departure: leave the main road to head north-west (GR® NC1, double markings). The trail follows an old skid trail that rises gently to the foot of the Blue Mountain (Gwé Buru) (alt. 940m). Cross several small creeks and reach a thalweg that is more more marked than the others. 1 - Creek (GPS: 669 514 – 7 555 788; alt. 275m): cross the rocky scree that encumbers the bed (caution, very slippery and dangerous in heavy rain). Reach the main track. 2 - Intersection (GPS: 669 118 – 7 555 785; alt. 233m): leave the GR® NC1. > The track blocked by a wooden beam, on the right, leads to the upper Rivière Bleue, the Grande Cascade, the Tristaniopsis hut and the Mine Soleil hut. Turn left to the next point.
