Description
The Aquarium des Lagons invites you to discover the diversity of the New Caledonian lagoon's seabed.
Ideally located in Anse Vata, the Aquarium des Lagons (Aquarium of the Lagoons) is sure to amaze you.
The visitor trail invites you to journey through New Caledonia's most iconic aquatic environments: freshwater systems, mangroves, coastal reefs, the lagoon and islet reefs, the outer slope of the barrier reef, and the deep sea.
Each tank replicates these ecosystems with the utmost fidelity, allowing you to observe species that are sometimes difficult to see in the wild, such as nautiluses or fluorescent corals.
The aquarium is not just a showcase for marine biodiversity; it is also a rehabilitation center for sea turtles and a research laboratory contributing to the study and preservation of the New Caledonian lagoon's iconic species.
Parascientific, fun, and festive events or evening openings are organized throughout the year (detailed program available on our Facebook page).
