Description
The Aquarium des Lagons invites you to discover the diversity of the New Caledonian lagoon's seabed.
At Anse Vata bay, the Aquarium des Lagons walks you through New Caledonia's aquatic environments: freshwater, mangroves, coastal reefs, lagoon and islet reefs, the outer slope of the barrier reef, and deep sea. Each tank faithfully recreates these ecosystems and lets you watch species rarely seen in the wild, such as nautiluses and fluorescent corals. The site also runs a sea turtle rescue centre and a research lab focused on lagoon species. Activities punctuate the day, at 10am on weekends and school holidays, at 3pm and 4:15pm daily, with fish feeding at 1:30pm and turtle feeding at 3:45pm except on Monday. Small-group semi-private tours are available by reservation. Book your ticket.
