This change has been contested by some residents of the Loyalty Islands and may occasionally lead to disruptions. Air Calédonie confirmed the transfer of operations to La Tontouta from 2 March 2026, and also reported disruptions around the transition, with a progressive resumption of flights to the Isle of Pines from 30 March 2026.
