New Caledonia Cruise Club

The association facilitates consultation between local authorities, customary authorities, ports, cruise lines, tourism operators, transport providers, retailers, artisans and other industry professionals. It supports the sharing of information and data, the coordination of port-call schedules and the representation of the industry’s collective interests. The Club assists local councils with assessing, opening or reopening cruise ports of call. This support considers factors including nautical and technical feasibility, operational safety, local visitor capacity, community support, the availability of transport and activities, site protection and the economic viability of services for local operators. It acts as a coordinator and facilitator without replacing the relevant authorities or decisions made by each destination. Its activities also include training and professional development, diversifying the experiences available to passengers, showcasing New Caledonian products, expertise and heritage, and promoting the destination to cruise lines and professional networks across the Pacific. The Club contributes to defining and implementing a development strategy for the industry. It encourages shared practices relating to service quality, safety, reliability and respect for the environment, cultures and communities. Membership is open to individuals and public or private organisations with an activity, area of expertise or interest related to the cruise industry.
