The imposing mass of Mont-Dore stands south-east of Nouméa. It overlooks the whole of the Great South and Nouméa. The most spectacular route to the summit is probably the one that climbs the south-east ridge of the mountain.
Location: head to Mont-Dore on the RP 1. After 26.5 km, at the service station roundabout, take a right towards the coast (RP 2) followed by Rue du Long Bec and Rue des Inséparables. The trail starts from the far north of Rue des Inséparables (GPS: 664 769 – 7 534 555); respect the local residents.
