Enjoy a memorable weekend with the Kanak tribe of Table-Unio valley in Moindou, with a night spent camping by the river!
In Table-Unio valley, the Table-Unio women’s association welcomes visitors who want to learn about their culture and way of life. You can stay overnight on a campsite by the river. There are 30 tent pitches with toilet and shower facilities. A dormitory, a bedroom and a large communal hall complete the offering.
Every third weekend of the month, Eliane and the women from the association open their doors and offer visitors an authentic tribal experience that goes beyond simple accommodation, with a market, hiking, traditional meals, weaving and more. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the traditions and way of life of a New Caledonian tribe.
Between Moindou and Bourail, take the Boghen entry on the right after the New Zealand cemetery (signposted Table-Unio) and follow the road for an hour.
