Rio doesn't have the worldwide monopoly of Christ the Redeemer! The city of Païta can indeed be proud to host on its soil an almost carbon copy, at a small scale, monumental statue erected on Mount Corcovado!

Work of a Vietnamese artist, Christ the Redeemer of Paita certainly has no dimensions of its Brazilian elder (38 meters high, including pedestal) or its fame. It is a beautiful reproduction of the world famous artwork whose designers are the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa and the French sculptor Paul Landowski.

If the original version of Rio was finalized in 1931, that of Païta, erected on Mount Vive’te was solemnly blessed in September 2013, in remembrance of the World Youth Days that were held that year in Brazil!
