In honour of Citizenship Day on September 24th, the Government of New Caledonia and its partners present the 4th New Caledonia Film Festival in New Zealand. Watch and enjoy 5 short-films from New Caledonia, screened for the very first time in New Zealand in French or kanak indigenous languages, with English subtitles.
New this year: the New Caledonia Film Festival is also coming to Tauranga! Screening on 18 September at 6.15pm at the Rialto Cinema, register HERE.

Dans les coulisses d’un théâtre parisien, à moins d’une heure du spectacle, l’adolescent vêtu de son costume de fougères, a du mal à accepter le regard curieux qu’on porte sur sa culture.
Synopsis (EN): Siwane, a young Kanak (native of the Pacific Island of New Caledonia) has travelled to France with a group of traditional dancers for a cultural exchange. Backstage in a Parisian theater, moments before the beginning of the show and dressed in his traditional fern garbs, the young man struggles to accept intrigued reactions to his culture.
