The "Rendez-vous in New Caledonia" workshop, the international event for tourism professionals!
The 5th annual "Rendez-vous in New Caledonia" workshop is taking place this coming 28 May in Bourail. It's the must-attend B2B event of the year for local tourism professionals, providing a valuable opportunity to quickly meet foreign resellers (tour operators and travel agencies) for the purpose of developing or maintaining business relationships. Once again this year, there will be 122 professionals taking part in around 550 meetings in the space of less than a single day!
The "Rendez-vous in New Caledonia" workshop is taking place from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm on Tuesday 28 May at the prestigious Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Spa & Golf Resort in Bourail. This year, after showcasing Kanak culture at the Tjibaou Cultural Centre for the first two years of the event followed by the lagoon at the Phare Amédée lighthouse in 2017 and Îlot Canard island in 2018, this unmissable professional event in the calendar will be giving star billing to the "broussard" (a traditional rancher) side of the country.
As with previous years, and before the meetings take place, the attending foreign professionals will be treated to an introduction to the region via a choice of special educational tours designed to instruct them about the destination and prepare them for the workshop. These will take place on Île des Pins, Ouvéa or on the east coast and will all feature an itinerary in Nouméa and Bourail to ensure multiple site visits and tourist activities are included in each case.
On the big day itself, 76 local service providers (49 companies) and 46 foreign professionals (33 companies) made up of tour operators, travel agencies and specialist media from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland are expected at the hotel. Over the course of what will be a packed and busy day, a succession of 15-minute business meetings will take place between local service providers and foreign professionals using a speed dating format designed to enable them to present their companies and negotiate doing business together.
To further enliven the day and provide opportunities for more spontaneous discussion between the participants, the meals will be designed as convivial social events organised around the theme of local cultures. The lunch at the Sheraton will play the ocean-themed card, with traditional Kanak dishes and dances, whereas the closing cocktail evening will be designed to showcase the way of life of the stockmen at the Gecko Évasion ranch.
Year on year, this workshop serves as a key event in the calendar for foreign tourism professionals, helping to boost the destination's visibility and attractiveness internationally.
