The New Caledonian Lagoon on show in the Nagano Shopping Centre
From 22 July to 16 August, the New Caledonian lagoon took centre stage in front of more than 32,000 visitors during the New Caledonia and South Pacific Aquarium Exhibition, held in the Tokyu Shopping Centre at Nagano.
The New Caledonian lagoon was in the spotlight during the Japanese New Caledonia and South Pacific Aquarium Exhibition from 22 July to 16 August,. The event, supervised by Mr. Mihashi, a specialist in Marine Biodiversity, was held in the Tokyu Shopping Centre at Nagano.
An aquarium was specifically designed to represent the New Caledonian lagoon. Local products were on offer each weekend and goodies were given out to some lucky visitors. It was an opportunity for New Caledonia Tourism to distribute a range of promotional material (posters, brochures, etc.). In total, the exhibition attracted 32,650 visitors.
This initiative was a result of the interest shown in the destination by the SBC TV channel, following its media visit to New Caledonia. After the trip, the channel highlighted New Caledonia in the « Sanji de la la la » TV programme and then organised this beautiful and popular exhibition.
