An different kind of Japanese TV show explores the lagoon
From 12 to 22 November, New Caledonia Tourism welcomed the Japanese TV show World Summer’s Resort. Always on the lookout worldwide for new beach destinations to feature to their viewers, the show set its sights this time on “the island closest to paradise”!
World Summer’s Resort is a 30-minute variety show,broadcast every Saturday at midnight on the TBS TV channel to over six million Japanese viewers. Focusing on the “seven seas”, this TV programme presents lesser-known beach destinations, different types of water sports, hidden places waiting to be discovered within the holiday resorts, etc. And the production team chose New Caledonia for two future show!
New Caledonia Tourism, in partnership with Aircalin, welcomed the TV crew from 12 to 22 November, showing them sites and unique activities which they can then present to their public. They highlighted Noumea’s bays then flew to Lifou and its iconic sites before finishing by filming at the Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort and Spa. The team also met New Caledonians in order to highlight the culture of the country.
Their adventure will be shown in two 30-minute episodes on 24 December 2016 and 7 January 2017. The beaches, hotels, activities and local dishes will be featured.
A great opportunity to showcase the authenticity and varied facets of New Caledonia to the Japanese public.
